The builder
Spec your axle
Same specs as the paper order form, with the guesswork removed. Invalid combinations lock themselves out as you go. Submitting is a quote request, not a purchase: no payment is collected on this site.

Help: brackets, mounting, and tube profile
Bracket style: Single brackets are the standard mount. Double brackets (D) add a second plate for extra shear strength on hard working trailers. Heavy Duty (H) is required hardware on 8K and above.
Orientation: Standard Top Mount (Outboard) bolts to the bottom of the frame rail with the brackets outside, the most common setup. Reverse Side Mount (Inboard) tucks the brackets inside the rails for frames where outboard hardware will not fit. Match what your trailer already has unless you are changing the frame.
Side mount brackets installed: choose Yes to have the side mount hardware welded on at the factory, No if you are installing your own.
Tube profile: Straight Cambered is the standard tube with a slight built in arch so it sits flat under load. V Bend Cambered adds a shallow V to the tube for extra load leveling on wide or heavily loaded trailers. If you are not sure, Straight Cambered is the common spec.
Finish
Galvanized is hot-dipped off-site, which extends the build time. Your quote will confirm the lead time.
Fluid type
Help: finish and hub lubrication
Finish: Raw is bare steel, fine if you paint after install or run dry climates. Painted is the standard protective coat. Powder Coated is a baked on finish that takes gravel and road salt better than paint. Galvanized is hot dip zinc, the pick for boat trailers and salt exposure. Some finish and hardware combinations have build constraints; if yours does, the quote will flag it.
Fluid type: Grease packed hubs are the familiar standard, serviced with a grease gun. Oil bath hubs run the bearings in gear oil with a sight glass, run cooler on long highway miles, and are favored by fleets for service intervals. For occasional towing, grease is plenty.

Questions
FAQ
How fast will my axle ship?
It depends on the spec and the current build schedule. Your quote confirms the exact lead time in writing before you pay anything.
How does payment work?
Once you approve your quote, we send a single invoice for the full amount, due before work starts. There is no deposit and no second payment. Because every axle is built to your exact spec, all custom order axles are non-refundable once ordered.
How do I measure hub face and outside bracket?
Hub face is the distance from the outside face of one hub to the outside face of the other. Outside bracket is the distance across the outside of the two mounting brackets. The configurator shows a diagram next to both inputs, and it checks your numbers against valid build ranges as you type. When in doubt, call us and a tech will walk you through it.
What does shipping look like?
Axles ship freight from the Hydrastar plant. Shipping cost and transit time are included in your quote based on your ship-to address. Submitting the builder costs nothing: checkout only collects your shipping details so we can quote accurately.
Is submitting the configurator an order?
No. Submitting your spec is a quote request, not a purchase. No payment is taken on this site. Hydrastar reviews every spec, then sends your price, lead time, and a single invoice for the full amount. Nothing is built until you approve the quote and pay.
